This was our first time at Mene Sushi. Several friends had recommended Mene, so when my youngest wanted sushi for dinner we decided to give it a try. I always like to ask for recommendations when when we try a new restaurant so my husband and I went with all of the servers recommendations Chicken Bimbimbap, firecracker roll and tiger rolls. We also went with some of our usual japanese favorites; the ginger house salad, cucumber salad and california rolls with a side of smelt eggs for my daughter. My first indication I was going to like this restaurant was that they brought me a big frosty mug with my saporo-that was the best saporo I ever had :) The cucumber salad was very large compared to what I am used to and contained lots of crab and I believe shrimp-it was delicious as was the ginger salad. Bimbimbap, never had before, is my new favorite dish YUM, YUM, YUM! Both the firecracker and tiger rolls were spot on recommendations by our server. We also were pleasantly surprised with the bill-far more reasonable than our usual sushi bar bills. I had four stars when I started typing this review but my 7 yr old is over my shoulder telling me I need to add one more star-so I did.

I LOVE Mene! It is most definitely my favorite place to get sushi. All of their food is delicious- can't go wrong but my personal fave is beef bimbimbap and a few rolls of sushi. Their ginger dressing is the best I've ever had- and I've eaten my fair share of ginger dressing. Food is great quality, fair prices, nice atmosphere. Obnoxious high schoolers come in frequently but if you can look past that, you'll have a great experience.

OK- I used to be a huge fan of this place before I knew what good sushi was...once you have tried good sushi places you will never enter this place again! I highly recommend not ordering anything off the menu that is raw!!!! I have had food poisoning from this place before. The owner the female is always soooo rude. Cheap sushi does not equal good sushi!!!! only good thing about this place is the ginger salad and miso soup.

Mene is a good sushi joint. It's kinda small and draws a good crowd. It's a step up from Hana is roll variety and price, and they have beer! The chefs at the sushi bar are seriously in to their craft and a stitch to watch. I wore a Fukudome jersey in one night and they loved it.

Not the best sushi in the world but basically the only sushi worth eating in West Bloomfield. Good atmosphere. Very popular restaurant.

WE LOVE MENE. Great rolls, great prices, cute kabuki room for more than 8 people. The one star I took off is for attracting annoying high school girls who think they are being trendy for eating sushi. Go away.

The best sushi west of Woodward Ave! My favorites are the ginger salad and the bi bim bap. Not only is the sushi great, but so are the dishes. I would not recommend carrying out from here though; the food seems to be somewhat better eating at the restaurant. The prices are pretty reasonable for the quality of the food. It's also good for groups of about eight for things such as private parties, because they have a small back room. The service is great, as I always see the same people that have worked there for years. Definitely try this out!

BEST sushi anywhere. Reasonable prices by comparison to other sushi places in West Bloomfield. Owner (wife) is kind of rude, but once you sit down- you don't have to talk to her. Waitresses are very friendly.

Best sushi place in the metro Detroit area, hands down. Fresh, delicious and very friendly service (except the owner is a little serious). Their bulgogi is also excellent too. I make sure to go there every time I'm back in town

As a sushi fanatic I have frequented over 15 sushi bars, and Mene Sushi is the best. Mene actualy translates to peak of the mountain, and this place is definately that. This place is bumpin' at lunch time and dinner, at times they have five sushi chefs cranking out the rolls. They offer the standard issue sushi menu, but they also have a huge list of over-the-top americanized rolls. These include Sunday Morning roll: salmon and cream cheese in a tempura'd roll. Mene roll: spicy tuna avocado and tamago wrapped in thinly sliced cucumber (instead of rice and nori paper). My personal fav is the Fire Cracker: Shrimp tempura with spice sauce, and topped with a baked spicy crab salad. The inside is finely decortated in a variety of stained woods, and plenty of seating. They also many have Korean and Japanese dishes for your lame friends that don't like sushi.
